When Commercial Union and General Accident combined to become CGU, one of the nation's largest property and casualty insurance companies, they decided to form a joint venture to begin selling auto insurance through direct marketing. This new company was called Convenient Property and Casualty. This was a first for the company who used independent agents exclusively to sell auto and other personal lines insurance products.

Starting from scratch, as their exclusive marketing organization, Cimino Direct was not only responsible for developing the sales and marketing material used to persuade regional banks to sign on for the Private Label, bank sponsored, auto insurance program with Convenient, we were also responsible for the overall Marketing Strategy; the design, creative development, and printing of all direct marketing and collateral bank support materials; along with Data Processing and Lettershop management.

In their very first year, CD was able to help Convenient sell several thousand auto insurance policies exclusively through the mail. To help maintain telemarketing efficiencies and sustain level response rates, mailings were conducted every day of the week, every month for 30 months... all managed by CD.
